Maryland Route 3
Originally running the entire way between the Potomac River and southwest Baltimore, Maryland Route 3 is now a sub-10-mile, more local route between U.S. Route 50 in Bowie and Interstate 97 near Millersville. Former portions of the route are now part of U.S. Route 301 and I-97. MD 3 is the main arterial through Anne Arundel County's Crofton area and has a disconnected business route in Glen Burnie linking I-97 with Maryland Route 2. The route is congested due to the vast amounts of retail surrounding it as well as its status as part of a long-distance corridor between Baltimore and Richmond, Virginia.
